Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada. This is the time of year when we eat turkey with stuffing and gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie, apple crumble, ice cream... Oh yeah, and also, we reflect on our many blessings and offer up a huge bowl of gratitude to go with all that glorious food.
We have so, so much to be thankful for. It was hard to narrow the list down to something that could fit into just one blog post. But I managed.
1. For colour and beauty all around us, we give thanks.
2. For friends and family; those who live nearby and those who are far, we give thanks.
3. For girly girls who also can't resist a cool firetruck, we give thanks.
4. For more dessert than we can possibly eat, we give thanks.
5. For love and laughter and impromptu dance parties, we give thanks.
6. For those who watch our home videos and don't judge us based on our messy living rooms, we give thanks.
7. For toddlers who sleep through the night and haven't yet figured out how to climb out of their cribs, we give thanks.
8. For health, wealth, freedom, and opportunity, we give thanks.
9. For freely flowing hugs, kisses, and "I love you"s, we give thanks.
10. For husbands who win cruises (more on this later) and do more than their fair share of the cooking and cleaning (among many other great attributes), we give thanks.
Well, look at that! I wrote a list, and it just happens to be Monday, so I'm linking up with the awesome and inspiring Stasha of The Good Life for Monday Listicles.
Lovely list, and beautiful pictures! Hope you're enjoying this extra day off to spend time enjoying all that you are thankful for.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely list. And for the record I did not notice the mess, must be immune to it after living happily in mine. Lilah is so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo of you holding your child and smiling.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm DYING TO KNOW how your hubby won a cruise. DYING. (-:
Great-full post. (-:
What a great list!!! I love those pictures. That first one is really amazing. I love the fall colors!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this list very much! And the photos are all great...especially the sleeping one. So adorable.
ReplyDeleteAnd I absolutely love the way the dance party ends with no notice or transition whatsoever! She's just done. So funny!
That dress that Lilah is wearing is adorable. A great list of thanks.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear more about the cruise.
Adorable dress & love the dancing. I think she gets her moves from Daddy:)
ReplyDeleteI love this post a lot. Maybe because I am so maternal lately that it all resonated to me. Your family is lovely.

@Bits of BeeThank you. We most certainly did!
ReplyDelete@jacquiYeah, no warning there. In fact, I cut out the next bit where she accidentally drops one of her magnets into the open potty - that's what came next, if you were wondering!
ReplyDeleteSO many wonderful things to be thankful for! Life sure is great where you are :)
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Lilah cupping your face..when little ones do that it just warms my heart!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving! =) I always give thanks for #7 too. Fingers crossed that it won't be over soon.
ReplyDeleteYOU are awesome. I give thanks for you and your beautiful blog. Great photos!
ReplyDelete@Cookie's Mom Awww, you are too kind. This comment made my day!
ReplyDelete@Bestfoodies Me too! And it's rate, so I was very pleased to have captured that moment on camera.
ReplyDeleteThose bottom two pictures made me coo aloud. Aw.
ReplyDeleteAs for #7, I remember thinking sleep was over when Li'l D learned to climb out of his crib late last year. We had a rough couple of nights, but he learned to accept the idea that there was a magical force field around his door pretty quickly. :p
