Anxious? Who, me?

Almost Monday - time to write a Listicle!  Ally from Two Normal Moms suggested we come up with a list of ten things we'd like to see happen before we die.  This is a great topic, and I will answer that question one of these days, but having just attended a funeral on Saturday, I don't think I am quite up for this one right now - it's all just a little too raw.  So, instead I will go with Ally's alternative topic, ten things that give you anxiety.

1.  Tossing and turning and staring at the clock when I should be sleeping.

2.  Sticky messes.

3.  The persistent, hungry cry of a newborn.

4.  Drycleaning chemicals.

5.  Lilah's eating habits and table manners.

6. Cooking. Especially on a timeline.

7.  Inadvertently offending someone.

8.  Writer's block.

9.  Social situations in which I know absolutely no one and am forced to make awkward small talk.

10.  Imagining Lilah as a teenager.

    1. Which is why we all did so great and were so pleasantly surprise at how much fun the #MotherOfAllTweetups was! ;)

  2. #9 and #10 are ones that do it for me--most especially #9! I forgot just how much I've come to rely upon Ba.D.'s social skills and connections until the last party we attended together . . . where the one person I knew was one person more than Ba.D. knew. Gah!

    1. My other half is also the more social of the two of us. I have learned a few things from him, though!

  3. Let's get together and be anxious together about 7,8, 9 and 10. Only for 10 change Lilah's name to Sarah. Writer's block has been haunting me lately.

  6. The table manners and other kinds of etiquette gets me anxious too. My kids are probably sick of me talking about manners.....but I still say they are important life lessons.

  7. #1 makes me anxious too. I'm in denial that my boys will ever be teenagers just to avoid the anxiety. Great list!

  8. Great list! #10 is one of the biggies for me, I think being a mom of a teenaged girl might be what does me in. Yikes!

  11. It is weird, but at "The persistent, hungry cry of a newborn" I found myself so in control. In fact, there were times I laugh in front of her tiny face because it was so cute.

On the other hand, it makes me a little on edge or underpressure if the toddler is crying or fussy. And there is more loud people around. I guess, i feel less in control.

  14. Ahh, someone familiar with that staring at the clock. I have many many nights that I don't go to sleep AT ALL...it does make me anxious...last week two nights in a row so I was up for like 62 hours...talk about anxiety. I love cooking, which is a good thing since I have a foodie site but I do talk about the "on a timeline" thing in my post too hahaha....

  15. I hate #1, 7 is almost a given, I'm no where near as clever or funny as I think and 9 drives me to drink which leads to 7 which leads to 1.
